Gifts of Securities

The Jones Foundation encourages gifts of appreciated securities. With a gift of securities that have been held for the required holding period, donors are entitled to a charitable deduction for the full fair-market value of the stock in the year of the gift. The fair market value of the gift is determined by the mean high and low sales prices on the date the stock is received by the Foundation.
